Relegate Records is the first urban record label to come out of the southwest with it's new and upcoming artist's Jay C and Rebelus Maximus. There are a few tracks of theirs uploaded on myspace which are from their upcoming debut album's, feel free to tell your friends and add them to your profile. Reb (aka Jamie Burn) has been on the Plymouth hip hop scene for a few years now and has performed with such artist's as Mark B and Blade, he has released various album's through his own independent release and Relegate Records has got them all available right here to download.

Jay C is a new comer to the hip hop scene and has gained a fierce reputation as a freestyler around Torbay but now he has turned his attention to more serious matters in life and hopes to express them through his new album. Relegate Records is owned by Midnight and he is the producer, he has won a dj competition at level one nightclub, dj'd at the Torbay youth festival in 2003 and at various party's and functions. He also deals with promo's,bookings and the recording and release of all future Relegate Records cd's and downloads and merchandise.

Relegate Records started out when Midnight was at Deep Blue Sound Music Tech College where they showed him all about music technology and sound engineering, Half way through the course he did a project called "managing an artist" which was about the day to day life of an artist signed to a record label. The task was to pretend we were the record label and explain how we were to promote and market our artist as a product. This sparked an interest and he soon set about setting up his own label on a technical level. After finishing college Midnight began to promote his label working with various artist's from Plymouth and Torbay. He had a few gig's in the summer of 2007 getting his beats heard and still discovering his style, but his big break came when he decided to officially set up a label through the Princes Trust in December 2007.

He presented his idea to the panel at Princes Trust and they liked the idea he had, and in February 2008 midnight received some money from the Princes Trust and Relegate Records was born. We hope to spread the word about our label and get our music out there into the mainstream!
